I wanted to show you how cute the girls were today. They were worried that we would not be celebrating my birthday much, with Greg out of town. So they took it on themselves to throw make me a very special day, despite having to spend most of it in the Cardiologists office having an EKG and an ECHO.
I woke up at 7am to sounds of pans moving in the kitchen. I knew they must be up to something, because normally their first stop in the morning is our bed. After getting ready and picking up Gooey. I walked out my bedroom door and found my first note.
In case you can't quite read it. It says "Go downstairs into the living room. then the fire place. Happy Birthday. You will find clues along the way. You have to look everywhere."
Then two steps later. A cute picture:
Followed by about twelve other pictures of me and the girls, doing all sorts of activities together. And a few "I Love You Mommy" Notes.
Upon reaching the fireplace this is what awaited me.
Pictures attached to the fireplace mantel. And yes those are my presents. There is even one hidden under the bowl.
Can you guess what they were? They had asked the previous day, if Mia's Dad could take them shopping because Daddy was gone. I told them to wait for Dad. But they quickly came up with a new plan. They even worked around the wrapping paper that was hidden in my closet upstairs.
Here is a picture of what I received:
An apple, A bag of Easy Mac and Cheese, A can of peaches, a can of Mandarin Oranges, Bunny Crackers and a "Birthday Banana." Each was separately wrapped in its own bag or sack and the banana got the special spot under the bowl.
Lina also gave me a special invitation to an ice cream party with her and Ruthie. Since they were worried, I wasn't going to have my own friend party. Lina keep telling me it was OK if she stayed home from school today. So we could have a fun party and go somewhere fun. I told her we would for sure have some fun when Dad got home, and that we had to hurry so mommy wasn't late for her appointment.
And thanks to a nice lady in our ward, the last problem of no cake and no candles was solved. Lina and Ruthie went to bed very satisfied that it had been a successful birthday, because we had presents, decorations, a party, cake and candles. It was a perfect day.
Aren't they sweet girls? They made my day.
