Halloween Update

These last couple of weeks have been filled with Halloween. The girls have been talking about dressing up as Alice in Wonderland (Lina) and Tinkerbell (Ruthie) since January when we got their costumes. Last weekend we had a ward Halloween party at the church as a haunted mansion theme. The girls had a great time going from room to room and all of the different experiences. They learned to do the classic Michael Jackson "Thriller" dance, heard some Halloween stories, played halloween games, and had some halloween treats. At the end they had a halloween parade. There was also a pumpkin carving contest with a very creative hamburger winner.

On Halloween night the girls went out in the neighborhood and trick-or-treated door to door. Lina was the brave door knocker and Ruthie gave the loudest "TRICK-OR-TREAT"!!!!! No one doubted what Ruthie wanted. After a little bit of trick-or-treating we took the girls to a Halloween party with some friends. The girls got to play with some friends and do some fun games like trying to eat a donut off of a string without using their hands.

We decided to carve our own pumpkins too. I can't say that they are as creative as the hamburger, but the girls loved them. We let them draw on the pumpkins and then explain what the pumpkin should look like - then told them if they hurried and went to bed that their pumpkins would have faces when they woke up.

Overall I think they now understand what Halloween is and are hooked. Which really means more candy for Dad. :)

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!
