Gilroy Garlic, John Mayer and Primary Talks

Busy weekend - but very fun. We started by going to the world capital of garlic, Gilroy, CA. Once a year they do a garlic festival and celebrate their garlicness. This involves a lot of garlicy food - garlic fries, garlic stir-fry, garlic peppercorn steak sandwich, garlic corn-on-the-cob, garlic calamari, garlic pesto penne, and garlic ICE CREAM! That's right garlic ice cream - and with the long line for free garlic ice cream we hit that spot first. It was actually good, with a garlic after taste. The girls spent the rest of the day asking if the could have "not yucky ice cream.". So they probably not be going back for seconds next year.

When we got back we dropped the kids at some friends and went to see John Mayer down the street. Close enough that it should not have taken 45 min to get there though. The concert was great, and we were late enough that the lawn area was so full that we actually got good spots down front on the lawn since we had to squeeze in.

Finally Lina gave her first little scripture and prayer in Primary (D&C 18:15). She did a great job and did the prayer on her own which involved a lot about being grateful for being able to sit on Daddy's lap and that she should be nice to her sister. You should have been there - I think it's the last time Alison will let me help Lina since I left her solo to give the prayer on her own. But I'm all for original thought and letting her speak from the heart. Or at least that's what I'll claim.
