Disneyland Day 2- $500 and Tower of Terror

Well, we have arrived. This morning we did the "Princess Breakfast" at Ariel's Grotto for Lina and Ruthie. They got to meet Ariel, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, and Belle. The girls were so excited to see the princesses. Our first ride in the park was Tower of Terror... I think we may have permanently terrified Lina - she barely met the min height requirement and I HAD to take her. :)

After that we did some kid shows to calm her nerves and then went over to the "bug's life" kids rides. We rode a little caterpillar ride and as we were getting off we were approached by some Disney people from their "dream squad" who told us that we had won a sweepstakes. Alison and I thought it was some kind of funny time-share offer, but went along with it. When we got in their office they told us that we were in the right seats on the ride at the right time and we had won a $500 shopping spree at the World of Disney store in downtown Disney. Not kidding. Really.

So we met back with them at 3pm and spent the next hour spending $500 on the kids. They got halloween costumes for next year - Roof will be Tinkerbell and Lina picked Ariel, but we're going to switch it for a cuter Alice in Wonderland. They each picked a stuffed animal - Roof picked a Lady and the Tramp doggy and Lina picked a Minnie Mouse that is dressed like a princess. They got some Disney videos, toys, and other stuff. It was very surreal.

We spent the rest of the evening going on the "Soaring over California" ride where it feels like you're in a hang glider flying over California landmarks, Pirates of the Caribbean which has only been updated to add Johnny Depp's face, then we watched the Fantasmic show at night.

All in all, a great day.
